Patients. Care Partners. Progress.
The MSA Shared Patient History, Experience, and Research Exchange (MSA-SPHERE)
Shared Stories. Stronger Research.
After months of building alongside patients, care partners, clinicians, and researchers, the MSA-Shared Patient History, Experience, and Research Exchange (MSA-SPHERE) research platform is now available.
Â
MSA-SPHERE is more than a registry – it’s a community-powered research platform designed to capture the real experiences of people living with multiple system atrophy. By sharing your journey over time, you’ll help researchers better understand MSA, improve clinical care, and accelerate the development of new treatments and clinical trials.

If you join the study, you will be asked to:
- Answer questions about symptoms and daily experiences
- Complete online surveys every 3 months
- Help doctors and researchers better understand what patients and care partners need most
You may be eligible if you are:
- Age 30 or older, and
- Diagnosed with multiple system atrophy (MSA), OR
- A current or former care partner of someone with MSA
By sharing your experience, you can help:
- Improve understanding of how MSA changes over time
- Highlight the real-life needs of patients and care partners
- Support the development of future treatments and care strategies
“Patients with MSA and their caregivers, like us, will be given an important opportunity in assisting researchers and clinicians working to find more ways to treat patients of their symptoms and someday find a cure!”
— Ron & Susan Worby, Person Living with MSA & his Care Partner

YOUR EXPERIENCE DRIVES RESEARCH
No one understands MSA better than the people living with it every day. By sharing information about your symptoms, health, daily life, and care journey, you’re helping researchers uncover patterns that can lead to earlier diagnosis, better treatments, and improved quality of life.
BUILT FOR PATIENTS & CARE PARTNERS
Whether you’re living with MSA or supporting someone who is, your perspective matters. MSA-SPHERE is designed to make it easy to contribute meaningful information over time while giving every participant an opportunity to shape the future of MSA research.
ADVANCING CLINICAL CARE & TRIALS
The information shared through MSA-SPHERE will help researchers, clinicians, and Mission MSA Centers of Excellence better understand disease progression, identify unmet needs, improve patient care, and connect eligible participants with future research opportunities.
“We aren’t just building another database. We’re building a platform around the real questions we all want answered: What causes MSA? How do we catch it earlier? What actually helps our community day-to-day?”
— Jessie Iregui, MSc, Director of Research and Medical Education, Mission MSA & Principal Investigator, MSA-SPHERE
Collaborative Interest Forms
Mission MSA is actively collaborating with industry and research partners on how MSA-SPHERE can support current and future MSA development programs through tiered sponsorship and collaborative research opportunities. We’d be honored to explore how we can help move your program -and the MSA research field – forward together.
